This trip will take you to Kibale Forest National Park situated in the western part of Uganda and popularly also referred as the primate capital of the world which is attributed to the fact that it has over 13 primate species which is the highest than any other place in central Africa.
Your highlight to this park will be seeing the chimpanzees as they feed and play on tree branches. To see chimpanzees, you will need to have purchased a chimpanzee tracking permit from the Uganda wildlife authority and we will help you book your permit at no extra fee. This permit gives you the permission to only spend only 1hr around chimpanzees observing their behavior and taking as many photos of these species that we share with about 98% of our DNA.
This trip will also give you an opportunity to do a game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park’s Ishasha sector which is popularly known to be home to the tree climbing lions. These exhibited such a skill to escape insect bites on the ground and have a clear view of their prey as they roam in the park.
From here, you will proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to see gorillas which is another major highlight of 6 days Uganda safari trip. Detailed 6 days Uganda safari itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
To start this trip, you will need to have arrived in Uganda the day before or arriving in the early morning hours for a quick transfer to Kibale to avoid the heavy morning traffic jam in Kampala.
If you are in the country already, our driver/guide will come at the hotel of your residence to pick you up and embark on a journey to Kibale National Park. This is 4-6 hour drive filled with breath taking views of the beautiful countryside made of hills, tea plantations, and so much more.
Arrive to your lodge in the late afternoon, check in and go for an optional community walk.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale and Bigodi wetland sanctuary
Wake up excited because your trip is getting better. Right after breakfast, our guide will transfer you to the park headquarters for briefing on the guidelines you need to follow while close to chimpanzees and during the tracking experience. Right after, you will be led into the forest with the help of the guide and rangers.
On spotting chimpanzees, you will be allowed to spend 1 hour observing and taking as many of photos as you want of these species. Once the 1hr elapses, you will led back to the park headquarters where our guide will pick you from and drive you to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you can rest for a few hours and then later you will be led to Bigodi wetland sanctuary.
Bigodi is known to the best birding spot while within Kibale forest National Park and while here you will have a look at different bird species and other wildlife species.
Head back to your lodge for your dinner and then rest.

Day 3: Sempaya hot springs and crater lakes.
You will wake up, take breakfast and our guide will take you to Sempaya hot spring to have a look at the both female and male hot springs. While here, you will get a chance of boiling an egg right from a hot spring. Its an experience that you definitely don’t have miss out. Right after you will head back to explore the Kibale crater lakes which were formed as a result of volcanic activity.
After these, you will be led back to the hotel for dinner and then rest.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with a brief game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park
You will need to wake up very early in the morning, have breakfast and then our driver will pick you up after checking out of your lodge for a trip to Bwindi. On reaching Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will do a brief game drive through the Ishasha sector to see the tree climbing lions and other wildlife species in the park.
After you will proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the south western part of Uganda, check in to your lodge, have dinner and then rest.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking and Batwa
Wake up excited because this is another day where you will get to see man’s closest relative in their natural habitat. After breakfast, our driver will pick you up and take you to the park headquarters for briefing about the guidelines you need to follow during trekking and close to the gorillas.
You will then be led into the forest with the help of armed rangers and guides to locate the gorillas. On spotting them, you will be allowed to spend about 1hour around these massive creatures while observing their behavior and taking photos.
After the 1 hour, you will be led back to the park headquarters where you will be awarded with a certificate indicating that you participated in gorilla trekking in Uganda. Our guide will then pick you up and take you to your lodge for lunch and resting.
In the evening, you will visit the Batwa community of people. These people initially inhabited the Bwindi forest but following the establishment of the park to pave way for conservation of gorilllas and other wildlife species in the park, they were resettled in areas around the park. Being around these people gives you an opportunity to see them entertain for you, observe their way of life and also get to listen to their story.
You will then head back to your lodge for dinner and then resting.

Day 6: Transfer to Kampala
Wake up, take breakfast, check out of your lodge and embark on a trip back to Kampala which will also introduce you to some remarkable picturesque views of the rolling hills and valleys, roadside fruits, the iconic Ankole long horned cows that can be seen in farm and so much more.
Upon reaching Mbarara, you will proceed to Igongo Cultural centre for lunch and proceed to Kampala. Once you reach Kayabwe, you will make a brief stop at the equator sign which gives you the opportunity to see in two hemispheres at the same time.
Its from here that you will proceed to Kampala to either the hotel of your own choice or direct to Entebbe International Airport for a flight back home.
