Toyota Land Cruiser VX/V8 with Rooftop Tent: The 2011 Toyota Land Cruiser is a continuation of its 53-year history as a tough, all-terrain sport-utility vehicle, delivering both strong off-road capabilities and smooth city rides. It is the perfect choice for your off-the-beaten-track adventure, coupled with luxury so that you can maneuver whatever kind of road with maximum comfort. The full-size elite SUV features a 5.7-liter V8 that pumps out 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque, specifically designed to allow the vehicle to either ascend or descend a rugged or bumpy peak. Its full-time four-wheel drive further enhances the Land Cruiser’s off-road capability, as does its “Crawl Control.” Its abundant space allows for comfortable seating for 4–7 passengers with their luggage at the rear.
With rooftop camping being popular in Uganda, we have included this service on the Landcruiser VX/V8 for more affordability. The V8 can best be fitted with one rooftop tent (double sleeper) and sometimes two tents (4 people) for budget campers.
However, two rooftop tents increase the load on the Land Cruiser, making it a little bit heavier and slower on some occasions, such as when ascending the steep hills of Kisoro and Kabale roads. The weight also exerts more pressure on the tyres and increases the chances for brake pads to wear out within a limited period of time.
